Whooping My Ass Into Shape...

Let's see....my last post was aeons ago. And that post was a 'token of my promise to post more'. Oooops!

So what I have been doing all these month, you wonder? I'm so glad you asked.
1. Graduated
2. Looked relentlessly for a job
3. Failed to get a job
4. Enrolled in classes to keep myself busy

All this could not have been possible without our wonderful economy! (Yes, that is sarcasm.)

Why is this at all relevant? Because: [a] I'll admit, that not being able to find employment has got me feeling a little blue and has taken my motivation to write away; and [b] I haven't got very much $$$ and sadly, can't front the bill to be traveling around (gas costs money!) or paying for admission to events (it begins adds up!).

BUT...I'm beginning to get out of my slump: I want to write more and find inexpensive things to due around Lake and Cook County.

So in the coming days and weeks look for: [a] suggestions based on my experience in Morocco and [b] a little something on Chicago's Christkindlmarket.

I'm excited to begin writing again. Okay, that's all! I'm getting off my soapbox.

Trying to change my deadbeat ways...

This post is really just an assurance that, no, I have not forgotten my promise to post about my trip. I'm trying to find some free time to compose something that will make everyone want to grab a taxi to the airport and hop a plane to Morocco post-haste, but I'm currently enrolled in 5 courses with intense workloads and I'm trying to find my first post-graduate job.

They say patience is a virtue so consider this a practice in virtuousness.

As an apology/token of my promise to post more, I treat you to more visual representations of that North African paradise...

[Note: This pizza was actually better than any I've had in the States. If I ever find myself back in Meknes, I will head straight back to the outdoor cafe that birthed this blessed cheese-coated perfection]

[Note: My home-stay family in Fes was phenomenal in the kitchen. Not a day goes by that I don't crave their homemade bread. This is an example of what real home cooking is. If it wasn't for walking daily miles, I probably have come home 20 lbs. heavier.]

Confessions of an Unfit Parent

If this blog were a baby and I its parent, then I would be charged with negligence. But thankfully it's not. My countdown to Morocco came and went; I got on that plane and traveled the distance. Then got back around 4(-ish) months ago.

…And haven’t written anything on here since.

I spent part of the time pondering what to do with this blog now that it has served its purpose and part of that time wondering what I should write about Morocco that is worthy of the vast cyber world. So the plan is to write a couple of short pieces about my experience in that beautiful country and then re-purpose this blog so it can enjoy an extended life.

And because they say that an image is worth a thousand words:
